a bit about Richard
Richard is an accomplished Musical Director (MD), working on a variety of theatrical productions from UK touring Musical Theatre to new Musical Theatre writing, Operetta and Musical Plays
As a Composer and Arranger, he has a specific interest in the emotional connectivity of music through song-writing and the use of the singing voice as a story-telling tool. Richard is an expert in vocal arrangement, creating sound worlds that elevate and augment the dramatic narrative of a piece through intricate combinations of melody, harmony, lyric & texture
Richard has musically directed, taught singing and written music for Mountview Academy, LAMDA, East 15 Acting School, Wilkes Academy and CPA
He is a respected singing teacher, having trained at Southampton (BA [Hons], Music), Bournemouth (MA Multimedia Design for Film & Television) and Cambridge Universities. He studied voice with John Wakefield (Trinity Laban) and orchestration/arranging with Matthew Scott (Head of Music, The National Theatre)
He also works extensively with young people and as an Associate MD for British Youth Music Theatre
